Happy World Cardmaking Day! To celebrate, I’m going to share with you my latest scrapbooking layout!
The truth is, I was invited to go hang out with a friend and spend the entire day making cards and having laughs and drinking lots and lots of her amazing flavoured coffees, but I had to decline because I worked today. Such is the story of my life.
I do, however, have my new favourite scrapbooking layout still sitting here, waiting to be shared. I received my September Citrus Twist kit last week and wanted to dig into it but I couldn’t think of any recent pictures that I wanted to scrap so I did something I have never done before — I planned a page I wanted to create and then I went out and took the shots!
Because I do wind up working a fair number of weekends, the ones I have off are usually jam packed with stuff to do – this past weekend was no exception. We hung out at home for a bit, took Paige to dance classes, went on a hunt for her Halloween costume, visited my grandparents, went for dinner with my parents, and saw a movie with some friends. I took pictures at almost every stop along the way then printed most of them very small with my Selphy.
The Allison Kreft paper, Recorded – Best of Times, came in the kit and it just screams to be plastered with tiny pics. So I plastered it with tiny pics:
I wanted some variety so the pictures follow no particular order or pattern and I transformed some of them into black and white to add more interest. The wood veneers, flair, and stamps (with the exception of the dater) are exclusive to Citrus Twist but almost everything else should be readily available at many scrapbooking stores. I’ll do my best to provide a comprehensive list at the end of the post.
Here are some details:
Webster’s Pages: Recorded – Best of Times; American Crafts: Cut & Paste – Infatuation; Bazzill Cardstock (I think)
Citrus Twist: Wood Veneers, flair; BasicGrey: Candy Buttons; American Crafts: Dear Lizzy Dimensional Embellishments and Thickers; Fancy Pants: Collecting Moments tag
Citrus Twist and American Crafts
I am hoping that I will find some time to work with this kit some more. As much as I want to start using more of my stash, I find that working with a kit motivates me to get working, period, because there is a small sense of pressure to use it all up before the next kit comes in the mail. Of course, if I do get to break it out some more, I will share with you what I have come up with!
Thanks for looking and I welcome and appreciate your comments!
